Getting Started with Shieldy
Welcome to Shieldy — the free Shopify fraud filter and IP blocker built with Shopify Functions. This guide walks you through installation and your first protection rules in five minutes.
Step 1 — Install from the Shopify App Store
- Visit apps.shopify.com/shieldify-fraud-filter.
- Click Add app and sign in to your Shopify admin.
- Approve the requested permissions (read storefront, write checkout rules).
- The app appears under Apps in your Shopify admin.
No code changes or theme modifications needed.
Step 2 — Run the protection wizard
On first launch, Shieldy auto-detects your store profile and suggests a starting ruleset:
- Storefront language → matched against blocked-country recommendations.
- Product category → adjusts default risk thresholds.
- Order volume → calibrates rate-limit defaults.
Click Apply recommended ruleset and you are protected immediately.
Step 3 — Add your first custom rule
If you have a specific country, IP, or pattern to block:
- Open Block rules → New rule.
- Choose rule type (Block / Redirect / Whitelist) and criteria (IP, Country, ISP, etc).
- Save. The rule is live in under a minute.
Step 4 — Check Visitor Analytics
Open Visitor Analytics to see real-time traffic data:
- Total visitors / allowed / blocked
- Top blocked countries and IPs
- Risk score distribution
- VPN/Proxy/Tor detection counts
Step 5 — Upgrade when ready
The Free plan covers basic IP and country blocking with 4 rules. Upgrade to Premium ($4.99/mo) for unlimited rules and VPN detection, or to Enterprise for full checkout-level protection.
